Hey there, LoveTrekkers. I promised you an in-depth guide of where to meet men, how to dress and when to go to the playground of the hot, rich and famous — and I always keep my word. Love to love ya!
- WHEN TO GO. The season officially begins on Thanksgiving day, but it’s quiet! You can still meet lots of hotties, but don’t expect to get the full Aspen experience until after New Years day.
- WHAT TO WEAR. Although Aspen is largely considered to be a glamazons winter playground, there’s no need to wear head-to-toe fur like Mariah Carey (although some of the older ladies do). Layer up in tight jeans, leggings or – hey now! – jeggings, a plaid shirt under a tight sweater or a long-sleeved thermal under a down vest. Aspen gets COLD in the winter, so warmth is key. You can sex up your look a little by keeping your clothing tight and leaving your hair long and loose. Remember, these are low-key guys, and they THINK they like their girls au natural. But what guy ever really knows what he wants? So wear your makeup subtly and reign in your inner fashionista — make him wonder what’s under your clothes!
LET THE WHORE TOUR (JOKING!) BEGIN!
- BEST PLACE TO MEET A CELEBRITY/RICH OLD DUDE
Matsuhisa literally has the best-tasting food (sushi, Japanese, etc) in Aspen — and it’s also the most expensive, which is why celebrities tend to congregate there. The crowd is a lot older though — don’t expect to meet the hot, young thangs you’re looking for. However, if you’re looking to see Charlie Sheen, Robert DeNiro or some older businessmen, this is probably your kind of place.

- BEST APRES-SKIING/BOARDING DRINKS.
39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel is AWESOME. There’s a fireplace, yummy cocktails (the Sake Mary, Cherry Breakfast Collins and Chamapgne Supernova are to die for) and amazing-looking men stomping around in their snow gear. Go as soon as the men are heading off the mountain though — this isn’t really a late night spot.
709 East Durant Avenue
- BEST SPOT FOR A LATE-NIGHT HOOKUP.
If you’re REALLY looking for a vacation fling, Eric’s Bar is your venue of choice. There’s beer and martinis galore, a cigar room and pool. Every single Aspen-ite informed me that this was THE only place to go late night. Bars shut at 2 in Aspen, so late night isn’t all THAT late — head to Eric’s around 11 to get your drink (and perhaps inner slut) on.
315 E Hyman Ave Frnt
- BEST SPOT TO GET DOWN ON THE DANCE FLOOR.
The Regal is really the only serious spot for dancing in Aspen, and as fun as it is, beware: you’re not likely to meet a guy under the age of 25 here. However, if you’re a puma (that’s a cougar-in-training) like myself, grab some girlfriends and head on over for flirting, dancing and drinking — just don’t expect to find a night of passion!

- BEST PLACE TO MEET A BAND BOY.
If you love men that love music, put on some plaid and head to the Belly Up, where you’ll hear everything from local bands to Snoop Dogg to my personal favorite, Pretty Lights. If you really want to impress him, brush up on your knowledge of ska and punk — I didn’t meet a man in Aspen who WASN’T in to either genre.

- BEST MAGICAL SPOT TO GET DRUNK IN THE DAYTIME
When I say magic, I don’t mean Harry Potter. I mean ‘magical’ as in ROMANTIC. Cloud 9 Alpine Bistro is high up on the mountain in the Aspen Highlands and you can really only get there by a ski lift. This can pose a problem, as many a boarder/skier likes to heavily imbibe at this hot spot — and then ride their snow toy down the mountain. However, it truly is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking it, and sets a certain mood for romance, if you know what I mean (which I think you will after looking at the photographs)!
At the top of Cloud Nine lift
- BEST SPOT TO PRE-GAME
There are ALWAYS boys getting their pre-game on at The Red Onion, mostly because of it’s ridiculously cheap — $3.50! — shot-and-a-beer happy hour special. Despite being the most sports-friendly bar in Aspen, chances are the boys that hang at The Onion will be way more focused on YOU than the game — especially after they have that third tequila shot…
