They fell for one another while creating love heart sweets

Ready to hear something sweet? In a far off land, there lies a place where sweets are made…and where all your dreams will come true. No, it isn’t Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory…and I sort of made that last part up. One dream has come true at least, though, for 122 of the employees at a British candy shop — as they’re in relationships with one another. That’s 61 couples. How’s that for sweet success?

Love is in the air at the Love Hearts factory in Derbyshire, U.K. Confectionary company Swizzels Matlow prides itself on the fact that, of its 500 some employees, there are currently 61 couples in its midst.

Company director Jeremy Lee told the Daily Telegraph: “I think it’s a lovely story that so many people met here. We knew anecdotally that many were either married to each other or going out with each other, but we just did a quick ask around to find out how many were together. It’s a very close-knit place.”

You don’t say.

Apparently the staff took creating messages like “I love you” and “All mine”to, well…heart.

Hooking up with someone you work with is always tough — though it can, of course, be fun.

If any of these 61 relationships were to end, though, I’m sure the staff wouldn’t feel quite so sugary sweet about coming to work.

But hey, at least they have a ready made excuse  to call in sick should they find themselves the recipient of heartbreak.

Toothache, heartache…ain’t it all the same?
