Also get informed about the cities that value sex the least — so you can avoid them!

I am a very, very lucky girl. I was pleased and surprised to find that my hometown of Santa Monica, California, was ranked second among the top ten places in America where sex is valued the most. I mean, I would be more excited if, say, love was valued above all else, but this I can live with. Believe it or not, eight of the top ten cities on‘s sex list — in a survey of 10 million people — are in the Golden State. Peace, love and surfers galore! Why doesn’t everyone just move to good, old C.A.?

There has to be a reason why Californians are so sexed up — and a reason why the not-so-sexual folks in Lubbock, Texas couldn’t care less about knocking boots or bumping uglies. Everyone on the Westside and South Bay at least (beach towns like Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan Beach, Malibu, Redondo Beach and Hermosa) enjoy a better quality of life. They take time to smell the roses. They work out outside. They get endless amounts of ocean, sunshine and sandy beaches. They work out, which boosts endorphins, which, in turn, boosts sex drive.

And everyone — and I do mean this literally — is not only attractive, but scantily clad.

Who wouldn’t place a high value on sex and/or sexual attraction in that case?

Did your city make the cut? Do you care? Do you suddenly have an overwhelming urge to pack up and move to California?

Trust me. I made the move from Manhattan nearly three years ago, and I have never, ever looked back. In fact, I might be inclined to say that this was the smartest decision I’ve ever made — and not just because the surfers all have insanely hot bodies, either.

The real reason people are so inclined to do the deed here is because they’re happy, myself included.
