Will you learn how to get what you want?

Do you always find yourself the dumpee instead of the dumper? Are you almost always single? Do your brief relationships seem to stall after the third date? If you answered ‘yes’ to two or more of these questions, you probably want to give it up, bite the bullet and…no, puh-leaze. I was not going to say ‘become a nun and live in a convent.’ What I was about to say (before you so rudely interrupted) is that you should book yourself a spot at The Sweet Surrender Workshop for Wives and Girlfriends. Woman, you clearly need it.

Heart’s Desire International is hosting a day of love learning on April 14th, and will offer a seminar on how to Attract and Marry the Man Who’s Right for You. The organization bases its workshops, coaching and retreats on the work of New York Times best-selling author of “The Surrendered Wife” and “The Surrendered Single” Laura Doyle, who will actually be on hand at the Miami, Florida event.

According to its press release, “Heart’s Desire International teaches women to reconnect with their femininity and their longing to be desired. In this age of equality, some critics find the approach outdated and sexist––but not graduates of the Heart’s Desire workshops, who swear by the effectiveness of the company’s methods in teaching them to have successful relationships.”

Its co-founder, Gladys Diaz, says: “Not everyone has gotten the word yet that they can put an end to chronic heartbreak and loneliness by learning a few skills. This spring and summer hundreds will make that breakthrough at our workshops and at the Lifelong Romance Retreat for women in South Florida from June 22-24.”

Now, ordinarily, a bunch of women in a room ranting about men would give me hives and made yearn for testosterone, but I like the idea of this. It won’t be a bunch of harpies bitching about they hate men. It will be for those who genuinely need help, and who agree that there’s something to this Venus/Mars thing that they personally just aren’t getting.

Now if only we could host one for men at the same time…and if only I were a fly on the wall. Sigh. Like the Rolling Stones said, you can’t always get what you want…but for the unlucky in love, you may just get what you need.
