It can happen to you…

For YEARS I’ve been seeing the same old tragic story in the tabloids: “Jennifer Aniston, burned by Brad Pitt!” or “Jennifer Aniston makes desperate late night phone calls to Brad in hopes he takes her back!” or “Angelina Jolie, furious that Brad’s mom still keeps in contact with Jen!” To these tired, bold-faced headlines I say “Bitch, puh-leaze.” And I bet you Jen does, too. But, for the record, I also believe Brad, Angelina and their brood of international delights is the furthest thing from her mind. The woman just got engaged, for cripes sake. Thank God for small (and large) favors!

No, this isn’t just one of those silly, unconfirmed rumors you see on the cover of In Touch Weekly.  People magazine actually confirmed the reports via her fiancé’s publicist, who says: “Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage.”

The usually self-contained star couldn’t hide her happiness, even admitting on live TV while filming Good Morning America :“Yes, I’m very happy. I’m extremely lucky, and I’m extremely happy.”

This woman DESERVES happiness. When you’re known as “She Who Has Been Dumped By The Hottest Man on the Planet” for your entire life. you take your crumbs where you can get them.

And even after almost a decade of humiliation, she’s managed to bounce back and find love with someone who challenges her, excites her and betters her. She seems less controlled, more carefree, more unafraid.

So if you believe you’ll never find love again, that a relationship has broken you for good, just look at Jennifer Aniston. She is living proof that resiliency is human nature. We bounce back. Hearts mend. Happiness finds us again.
