I knew there was a reason I loved living in California so much. OK, I’m kidding — I don’t give a rat’s-you-know-what about men who have money (something Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger would not be happy to hear me say) but for some women, it’s at the top of their deal-breakers list. Happy 4th Of July — May Your Day Be Filled With REAL Fireworks!

Are sparks going off for you wherever you may be in the world? I hope so

As I may have mentioned before one or a million times, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It makes me feel like a kid again. Fireworks just do it for me; there’s something majestic about the mixture of color and sound that takes me away from me for awhile. That said, every single year for the past 11 years, regardless of where I happened to be living at the time, I have been on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. for 4th. Not so this year. But while I could have been sitting sadly at home in Santa Monica, Calif. on the other side of the US, this has actually been one of the best Independence Days I’ve had to date. This may have something to do with becoming independent from my routine — and giving in to the freedom of the unexpected. more…
