Never say never — hope is not lost

Forget Rosalia — my middle name should be ‘late to the party.’ Why? Well, as I was perusing Craigslist last night (ostensibly to help someone find an apartment but also to find myself a beach cruiser) I noticed the ‘Missed Connections’ section. What a brilliant concept! If you’re tripping along as blithely unaware as I was, I’m urging you to read this and pass it along. Don’t you fancy the idea of being someone else’s ‘missed connection’? Can you imagine how boring the world would be if we all looked alike? In my imagination, it would look like a super prepped out boarding school where, in addition to wearing the same uniform, we were all wearing the same face. No, thanks. Although I am flawed, I’m happy with who I am. I am grateful to be unique. And somewhere around the world, there’s a country of fine young gentlemen who would agree that a 5’1, athletic-bodied Italian-German (I, like most Americans, prefer to cite my ancestral roots) is their cup of tea.
