I was kind of appalled when I entered the Coachella music festival this weekend. There were children, teenagers, girls dressed up like they were going to Burning Man in furry boots and seashell bras, a plethora of celebrities there just to be snapped by the paps and a slew of sceney douchebags who wanted to see and be seen. Fail, Coachella! What happened to the good old days, when people actually went for the music? Were there any guys who actually went to hear the bands, to dance like no one was watching and to meet other like-minded, non-trendy individuals? I was on a mission to find out. It’s my favorite time of year again — theĀ  Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival! I’m not the only one with a metaphorical hard-on for this superfestival in Indio, California, either: it’s become so popular in recent years that the concert promoter Goldenvoice have added an extra weekend with the exact same lineup. While it remains to be seen whether or not this extra weekend will be lame or not, I have high hopes. There’s music, there’s fun parties, there are boys wearing Ray Bans and cut-off shorts. Where the thrill-seekers are

In all honesty, I didn’t have time to think about guys as I mentally prepared to take a 12,000 foot nosedive from an airplane. I was thinking about the following: a) am I really 31? How in the hell did that happen? b) I’m about to jump out of a plane…yes, apparently I really am crazy and c) I’m with three people I love (my best friend Lynn, her boyfriend Pete and our friend Richie) — I don’t have time for anyone else.
