Remember – romance can bloom in the most unlikely places

Whenever there’s a tale of unusual romance or love blooming in the most unlikely of locales, I’m all ears. But when I haven’t even heard of a nationality, I not only tune in, but yes, admittedly, feel a little stupid. Have you heard of the Bagobo people? Thought not. Yes, we are all philistines for failing to know about those from southern Mindanao, Philippines.  Read on for proof that international love can overcome all…including differences of nationality, culture and language. more…

To me, the thought of a public proposal is cheesy, embarrassing and unromantic, but there’s different strokes for different folks, right? more…

Are sparks going off for you wherever you may be in the world? I hope so

As I may have mentioned before one or a million times, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. It makes me feel like a kid again. Fireworks just do it for me; there’s something majestic about the mixture of color and sound that takes me away from me for awhile. That said, every single year for the past 11 years, regardless of where I happened to be living at the time, I have been on Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. for 4th. Not so this year. But while I could have been sitting sadly at home in Santa Monica, Calif. on the other side of the US, this has actually been one of the best Independence Days I’ve had to date. This may have something to do with becoming independent from my routine — and giving in to the freedom of the unexpected. more…

InboxCupid has a fresh new take on online dating — but will you see results?

Not to sound stereotypical here, but I’m a girl who a) loves men and b) loves shopping. Well, what if you could subscribe to a website that melded these two ‘passions’ and upped the ante by including a deal of the day? Hell, who doesn’t love a sale? more…
